Effective October 3, 2025 to January 19, 2026
Canpar has announced its Peak Season Surcharge period for the 2025 holiday shipping season. These temporary fees help Canpar manage the significant increase in parcel volume during the busiest months of the year, ensuring the reliability and consistency businesses expect.
Throughout the peak season, surcharges will apply to parcels requiring special handling, oversized shipments, overweight items, residential deliveries, and packages that exceed maximum size or weight limits.

Residential Peak Season Surcharge
Effective October 31, 2025 to January 19, 2026
A residential peak surcharge of $2.00 per shipment will apply to all residential deliveries during this period. Residential status is determined by Canpar at its discretion.
What Each Surcharge Covers
Extra Care (Non-Conveyable)
Applied to items that cannot be processed on automated systems due to packaging or shape. This includes:
Pails and containers
Tires
Liquids
Ball bearings, nuts, bolts, fasteners
Wooden or metal crates
Any item not fully enclosed in typical shipping packaging
Over Length
Applied when any single dimension exceeds 48 inches (122 cm).
Oversize
Applied when:
Length + girth exceeds 130 inches (330 cm), or
A single dimension exceeds 96 inches (244 cm)
Length = longest side. Girth = L + 2(W + H).
Overweight
Applied to items weighing more than 70 lbs (32 kg) but less than 150 lbs (68 kg).
OverMax Size or Weight
This surcharge applies if any of the following limits are exceeded:
Any side over 108 inches (274 cm)
Actual weight over 150 lbs (68 kg)
Length + girth over 165 inches (419 cm)
Length = longest side. Girth = L + 2(W + H).
