To mitigate fraud and to better protect our customers, we have added AVS when registering a credit card in ShipTime.  


When entering a credit card as a payment method, the user will need to confirm the valid billing address including the street address and postal code/ZIP code for that card.  Many fraudulent card users do not have address information.  This is an extra layer of protection against those cases.


AVS also applies to existing customers.  ShipTime customers with invalid/outdated billing information for their credit cards will also have to update their billing address information for their card or cards.


New Customers


For new customers, if the billing address is incorrect when adding a new card, a warning in red font will advise them to update the billing details (see screenshot below).




Existing Customers


For existing customers, if they try to use the card on their account and the billing address is incorrect, it will mention that, as an extra layer of security, they will need to reconfirm their billing address (see screenshot below).
