At ShipTime, we're always working to improve your shipping experience. Our upgraded Bring Your Own Rates (BYOR) feature helps you do just that.
Whether you’ve connected your FedEx, UPS, Purolator, Canada Post, or other courier accounts, BYOR now lets you view and compare your own rates alongside ShipTime’s discounted rates on the same platform. Even better, the platform will automatically select the lowest available rate.
What is BYOR?
Bring Your Own Rates (BYOR) is designed for businesses that have their own negotiated courier rates. By connecting your accounts, you can quote and ship using your own pricing without giving up access to ShipTime’s discounts.
What’s New with Dual Quoting?
In the past, BYOR users could only see and use their own rates, even if ShipTime had a cheaper one. Now, with our upgraded Dual Quoting feature, you'll see:
Your rate and ShipTime’s discounted rate side by side
The cheapest rate selected automatically
A "More Quotes" option to switch between offers instantly
A clear label showing which rate is selected
Rate Display Options
Want more control? You can choose how your rates are shown:
Dynamic (Default): Automatically selects the lowest available rate, whether it's from ShipTime or your BYOR account
Always Use My Rate: Your own BYOR rate is always selected, even if it’s more expensive
By default, "Dynamically" is selected. If "Always" is selected instead, your BYOR will be shown, regardless of how it compares to ShipTime's discounted rates and the ShipTime rate will be shown by clicking "More Quotes".
To switch between "Dynamically" and "Always," go to:
Settings > Preferences & Defaults
Important:
All shipments using your BYOR account are managed directly with your selected courier. This means ShipTime’s Heroic Support is not available for BYOR shipments, as you're using your own contracted service. For more information on BYOR, please click here.
